November 2021 Exhibit

The Village Theater at Cherry Hill is pleased to feature the works of artist Ilham Badreddine Mahfouz in a vibrant exhibit, entitled "Inception", in the Gallery@VT from November 2 through 29, 2021. A special artists meet and greet reception will be held on November 9 from 7-9 p.m. at The Village Theater, which is free and open to the public.

Artist Ilham Badreddine Mahfouz's current exhibit incorporates engaging paintings and ceramics with abstract styling, vibrant colors, and harmonic visuals that allow space for curiosity and one's interpretation.

"A color is a reflection of life; happy colors, sad colors, etc., which state emotions and feelings reflecting human conditions such as war, peace, tragedy, hope, success, spirituality, harmony, love, hate, anger - a journey of life in composition, colors, and brush strokes. I explored and charted on a space that conveys my subliminal human emotions which then transcends towards the viewer to interpret his or her own views through subconscious dialogue in colors."

Featured artist Ilham Badreddine Mahfouz is a Syrian-American artist residing in Michigan. She received her education from Eastern Michigan University obtaining her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Ceramics with a minor in Art History. Mahfouz has received several awards in her career and has had pieces displayed in exhibits and museums all across the globe. Awards she has received include: the Legacy Award for teaching art for over 20 years at the Pontiac Art Center; the Davinci Award from Italy; a Certificate of Appreciation from the Fantapia Museum in the Korea Republic; and many more for her works. Many of her pieces have been displayed in museums, such as: the Fantapia Museum in the Korea Republic; Amnesty International Art Museum in Denmark; Museum of New Art in Armada, Michigan; and Arab American Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.
